Presenting at a conference

15/09/2019

Recently I’ve had a pleasure to present at the AtlasCamp conference in beautiful Vienna. My talk was about a new API our team have been developing in Atlassian for some time. I was explaining “Whys”, “Whats” and “Hows” of the project. I won’t go into the details about the project and talk itself in here and rather focus on the presenting experience itself.

First of all, it is a great experience and I’m thankful that I’ve got a chance to present and convey the essence of the project to the audience. Hopefully audience enjoyed it too :-)

Some of the personal takeaways:
- The more feedback you get the richer and the less subjective your result is.
- Reahearse as much as possible and with as many people as possible - it helps to learn your talk and again feedback is super important.
- Do not worry, worries won’t help you to talk or present better, focus on parallel tasks instead or maybe rehearse more to keep yourself busy.
